Grizzly Man - Film Club at Home # 8

“Herzog is still the only person who could have made Grizzly Man. His admiration for Treadwell has its limits, but he understands, better than most directors, what it means to follow dreams into the belly of the beast.”
— Keith Phipps

Werner Herzog’s documentary about ill-fated bear enthusiast Timothy Treadwell is one of the director’s most acclaimed films. If you’re new to Herzog it’s a perfect introduction to his idiosyncratic style and worldview; for fans it contains many of the ingredients we love about his work.

Nigel reckons it’s a pivotal film for Herzog, so have a look at his introduction below before you see the film (which is widely available to stream; more details under the vid).

We’d love to hear what you think of Grizzly Man once you’ve seen it. Leave a comment here, send us an email, Tweet us @tpfilmclub or post on our Facebook or Instagram pages.

Where can you watch Grizzly Man?

You can rent Grizzly Man on Amazon, Apple iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, BFI Player, Rakuten, Chilli and Microsoft. Links to all via JustWatch.
