IMPORTANT: THIS SCREENING WILL NOW TAKE PLACE AT THE STAR, 47 CHESTER ROAD.

It takes us back to a time in the history of movies when audiences responded to the images on screen with a combination of awe and fear, when in submitting to them, we felt as if we were submitting to a spell.
— Hal Hinson, Washington Post

We’re particularly pleased with our contribution to this year’s Scalarama festival. Not only are we celebrating 150 years since the publication of Lewis Carroll’s classic but it’s also the type of weird cult movie that would have felt quite at home at the old Scala cinema in King’s Cross.

Jan Svankmajer’s take on Alice in Wonderland is an unforgettable combination of live action and stop-motion animation.

Creepier than some versions but no less magical this is a completely unique trip down the rabbit hole.
